The Specialty Certificate Examination has been introduced by the Royal College of Physicians to assess specialty knowledge.
If you have commenced specialty training since August 2007, this examination is a compulsory component of training for your certificate of completion of training (CCT).
It is also of value to those whose training commenced before 2007 as part of continuous assessment.
